Update on the ARI and COVID-19 Outbreak at SwanCare Waminda

We wish to provide an update on the current situation at SwanCare Waminda. We have a total of two residents affected by COVID-19 on Level 3 recovering in their rooms, with an additional resident, also affected by COVID-19, remaining in hospital for further care and support. One staff member is continuing their recovery at home. We are pleased to share that all other residents who were experiencing respiratory symptoms have since made a full recovery.

Visitations to Level 3 continue to be restricted with exemptions in place for end of life and partners in care. To minimise risk of further spread, increased infection control protocols remain in place across the affected floor.

SwanCare Waminda Ground Floor, Level 1 and Level 2 are now open to visitors. All social engagement activities, group dining, admissions, hairdressing, and physiotherapy sessions have resumed as per usual across these floors.

We would like to remind all visitors entering SwanCare Waminda that you must follow the infection control measures in place. This includes the requirement to wear an N95 mask if visiting Level 3, and a surgical mask when visiting Ground Floor, Level 1 and Level 2. All visitors must also complete a RAT prior to entry.

Please see the current health and safety measures detailed below:

  • Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
  • Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
  • Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.
  • Complete RAT prior to entry.
  • Wear the appropriate mask indoors at all times.
  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.
  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
  • Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm daily.
We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.
