Covid-19 updates
We need to advise an update on the Gastroenteritis and COVID-19 outbreak that we are currently experiencing at SwanCare Waminda.
5th December 2023
A total of six residents on Level 3 and 4 have tested positive for COVID-19. All affected residents’ families have been notified and the affected residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. Three staff members have also returned a positive COVID-19 result and are isolating at home until they make a full recovery.
Three residents across Levels 3 and 4 are currently affected by gastro and are being well taken care of in their rooms. All other residents and staff who were previously affected by Gastroenteritis have made a full recovery.
I am pleased to confirm, however, that Levels 1 and 2 have been cleared of Gastroenteritis and have remained free from COVID-19 infections.
As we continue to manage the outbreak on Levels 3 and 4, hairdressing services will remain suspended, physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified to 1:1 and meal tray service has been arranged for residents within their rooms across the affected levels.
Level 1 and 2 will now reopen to visitors with visitation exemptions to Level 3 and 4 made for end of life.
All visitors to Level 1 and 2 are required to respect the increased infection control measures in place and are reminded of the health and safety measures as detailed below:
