SwanCare Residential Aged Care Centre Visitation Requirement Update

Following the latest announcement in regard to the removal of mandatory COVID-19 isolation, we wanted to take the opportunity to update you on how these changes affect us at SwanCare.

As an organisation, the health and safety of our residents and staff remain a priority. We continue to follow the guidance of The Department of Health and will, at times of increased risk, implement further infection control measures.

Effective today, the 17th of October, visitors to SwanCare residential aged care centres are required to follow the below requirements:
  • Provide current proof of influenza vaccination prior to entry
  • Complete health screening upon arrival
  •  Wear masks indoors and outdoors within residential aged care centre grounds
  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or are a close contact of COVID-19 case
  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free
  • Visitors are limited to two people per day
  • Visiting hours are 9am-12pm & 2pm-5pm daily

RAT testing will no longer be mandatory for visitors; however, we encourage you to test yourself if feeling unwell and to follow public health advice, which includes staying home while unwell.

We would like to thank everyone for your ongoing support and compliance while we navigated the pandemic. Whilst COVID-19 continues to remain a real concern for our most vulnerable, we are confident we are well prepared to handle this as we do all other infection risks. The transition we are making to living with COVID-19 is only possible due to high levels of compliance and self-awareness, so thank you to everyone for doing the right thing.
