COVID-19 Update: SwanCare Waminda

We wish to provide an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Waminda. We are pleased to advise that visitations can resume on Ground Floor and Second Floor. All other floors will remain closed until further notice as residents continue their recovery. Routine testing will continue every 72 hours with residents being carefully monitored for symptoms.

We are taking all necessary precautions to minimise risk and prevent further spread. Since engaging surge workforce from the Commonwealth last week, we have had an increase in Registered Nurses, carers and cleaners to assist as we manage this outbreak. In addition, we have enhanced our Infection Prevention and Control measures and restricted movement across the affected floors. All SwanCare Waminda staff are required to complete Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) prior to each shift and must wear a N95 mask.

Visitors to Ground Floor and Second Floor are required to RAT test prior to entry and must wear masks and face shields when visiting. Partners in care are allowed to any level, however, they are required to wear full PPE when visiting any COVID-19 affected areas. Staff will assist with the donning and doffing of PPE. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Waminda reception, 9:00am – 12:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm daily, to schedule a time.

All actions have been implemented under the guidance of the Department of Health.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
