COVID-19 Update: SwanCare Tandara

We wish to provide an update on the current COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Tandara. We are pleased to advise all COVID-19 affected residents on Level 2 have completed their isolation period and made a full recovery. There is one remaining affected resident on Level 1 still recovering and three affected staff members currently isolating from home. As such, we can declare the outbreak at SwanCare Tandara Level 2 as resolved.

The deep cleaning of all affected areas of SwanCare Tandara Level 2 has commenced, and therefore visitations to Level 2 can recommence as per usual from today, Tuesday the 20th of June. All social engagement activities, group dining, admissions, hairdressing, and physiotherapy sessions will also resume for Level 2 residents as per usual.

We please ask visitations to SwanCare Tandara Level 1 remain limited where possible to allow the currently affected resident to fully recover and ensure there is no further spread. Exemptions for partners in care and end of life care however may be approved by the Care Services Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager or RN Team Leader.

RAT testing prior to entry remains a requirement for all visitors and staff entering SwanCare Tandara until the outbreak fully resolves, with masks only remaining mandatory for visitors and staff entering Level 1. Masks and Rapid Antigen Tests will remain available at reception for all visitors and staff to use.

To prevent reinfection and further spread, all visitors must continue adhering to the current health and safety measures as detailed below:

  • Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is strongly encouraged

  • Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival

  • Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place

  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case

  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free

  • Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm daily

All actions have been implemented under the guidance of the Department of Health.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
