COVID-19 Outbreak Update

Please be advised that there has been an additional positive COVID-19 case detected at SwanCare Waminda, resulting in a current total of four affected residents on Levels 2, 3 and 4. All affected residents’ families have been notified and the affected residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. I am pleased to share the affected resident located on Level 1 has made a full recovery, and there have been no further positive COVID-19 cases among staff.

Residents are being closely monitored for symptoms and are continuing to be tested every 72 hours as required.

Level 3, in addition to Levels 2 and 4, are currently restricted to minimise risk and mitigate further spread. Exemptions can be made for end of life and partners in care. Physiotherapy and social engagement activities will be modified to one-on-one and meal tray service will be provided to residents within their rooms across the affected floors. Hairdressing has also been ceased temporarily until further notice.

Level 1 has been reopened and all social engagement activities, group dining and physiotherapy sessions will resume as per usual. However, to allow us to best manage the situation, we do request that visits be limited where possible to assist us in managing this outbreak. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting Waminda during reception hours.

Please be reminded all visitors must adhere to the current health and safety measures as detailed below:

•    Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
•    Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
•    Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.
•    Complete RAT prior to entry.

•    If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
•    Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm daily.
