COVID-19 Update for SwanCare Ningana Levels 1, 2, and 3

Please be advised that a resident at SwanCare Ningana level 2 and one further resident on level 3 have both returned positive results for COVID-19 on RAT tests today.

Routine PCR testing will continue every 72 hours with PCR testing currently being arranged for level 2 residents in addition to levels 1 and 3. All affected residents are isolating, being well cared for, and their families have been notified directly.

SwanCare Ningana level 1, level 2, and level 3 are closed to visitors – please refrain from visiting until further notice. Visitation exemptions will be made for end of life and partners in care.

Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Ningana during reception hours to schedule a time.

Visitations to SwanCare Ningana ground floor may continue with increased infection control measures in place. Visiting hours are 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm Monday to Sunday.

As a reminder, all visitors are required to provide a negative RAT test and health screen upon arrival; in addition to following the WA Government’s current level 1 public health and social measures.

With the increase of new COVID-19 variants spreading in the community, the chance of reinfection also increases. For this reason, based on the latest expert advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), the window for potential reinfection of COVID-19 has been reduced from 12 weeks to four weeks (28 days). We ask all visitors who test positive within 48 hours of visiting any SwanCare residential aged care centre to please contact us immediately, so we can ensure your loved one is closely monitored for symptoms.

We will continue to provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and patience while we manage this outbreak.
