COVID-19 Outbreak at SwanCare Ningana level 1 and level 3

We need to advise that further positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected at SwanCare Ningana overnight. Five residents on level three and one additional staff member have returned positive results for COVID-19. This is in addition to the three residents on level 1 and two staff members who were reported yesterday, the 9th of July.

PCR testing is being organised for all SwanCare Ningana level 1 and level 3 residents. All affected residents are isolating and being cared for, their families have been notified directly. All affected staff are isolating at home. The safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is our priority. A full risk assessment is underway, infection control protocols are in place, and we are following the advice of the Department of Health.

As a result, SwanCare Ningana level 1 and level 3 will be closed to visitors effective immediately – please refrain from visiting until further notice. Visitation exemptions will be made for end of life and partners in care.

Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Ningana during reception hours to schedule a time.

Visitations to SwanCare Ningana ground floor and level 2 can continue with increased infection control measures in place. Visiting hours for SwanCare Ningana are 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm Monday to Sunday.

As a reminder, all visitors are required to provide a negative RAT test and health screen upon arrival; in addition to following the WA Government’s current level 1 public health and social measures:
  • Two visitors permitted per resident per day
  • Masks must be worn indoors and outdoors
  • Evidence of current COVID-19 and current 2022 flu vaccinations
  • Anyone deemed a close contact must not enter a residential aged care centre for 7 days
  • Do not attend our aged care centres if symptomatic or feeling unwell
