COVID-19 Update at SwanCare Kingia

We would like to provide you with an update regarding the COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Kingia. Over the weekend, three new cases have been detected on the Ground Floor. The families of the affected residents have been notified and the residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. This brings the total number of affected residents to 29 and 15 affected staff members since the onset of outbreak. Since our last update, we are pleased to advise seven residents have now fully recovered as well as three staff members.

All staff working in the affected care centre will complete Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) prior to each shift while regular RAT testing for residents will continue.

Due to this latest development, we are now restricting movement across both levels including temporarily ceasing hairdressing services, limiting physiotherapy and social engagement activities to 1:1 and providing meal tray service within residents’ rooms for both Ground Floor and Level 1 residents.

SwanCare Kingia is now closed to all visitors effective immediately – please refrain from visiting until further notice. Exemptions will be made for end of life and partners in care. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Kingia during reception, 9am-12pm & 2pm-5pm daily, to schedule a time.

We are doing everything within our control to reduce further risk to residents and staff and to provide support to all affected during this time. All actions have been implemented under the guidance of the Department of Health.

We will provide further updates are appropriate.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we manage this current outbreak.
