COVID-19 Outbreak Update | SwanCare Waminda

We would like to provide an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Waminda. One additional resident on Level 2 has tested positive to COVD-19. This resident’s family have been notified and the resident is being well taken care of in their room. One additional staff member has also tested positive to COVID-19 and is now recovering at home.

We are pleased to advise, however, that a further seven residents have made a full recovery since our last update, with all previously affected staff now able to return to work.

As such, SwanCare Waminda Ground Floor, Level 1 and Level 3 has reopened to visitors. All social engagement activities, group dining, admissions, hairdressing, and physiotherapy sessions have resumed as per usual across these floors.

Visitations to Level 2 continue to be restricted with exemptions in place for end of life and partners in care. To minimise risk of further spread, increased infection control protocols remain in place across the affected floor.

To help us continue to manage this outbreak, all visitors are required to respect the infection control measures in place. This includes wearing an N95 mask and completing a RAT prior to entry.

We also ask you to refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting SwanCare Waminda during reception hours for those who wish to speak to their loved one during this time.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and support.
