COVID-19 Outbreak Update | SwanCare Waminda
We need to provide an update on the current COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Waminda. Since the last update a third resident, who resides on Level 2, has tested positive to COVID-19. The affected resident’s family has been notified and the resident is being well taken care of in their room. We now have a total of three affected residents across Levels 2 & 3. A fourth staff member has also since tested positive to COVID-19 and is recovering at home.
Visitations and movement on both Level 2 & Level 3 are currently restricted to help minimise risk and mitigate further spread. Exemptions can be made for end of life and partners in care, however visitors will be required to complete a RAT prior to entry and wear an N95 mask.
Physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified to one-on-one, hairdressing services have temporarily ceased, and meal tray service is now being provided to residents within their rooms across the affected floors.
Visitations can continue to other floors, however, to allow us to best manage the situation, we do request that visits be limited where possible. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting Waminda during reception hours.
Please see the list of current health and safety measures detailed below:
- Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
- Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
- Complete RAT prior to entry.
- Wear the appropriate mask indoors at all times.
- Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.
- If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
- Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm daily.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to manage this outbreak.
