24th October 2024 | Visitations and movement across Ningana's Ground Floor and Level 1 are now restricted.
COVID-19 Outbreak Update | SwanCare Ningana
We need to provide an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Ningana. We have a current total of six affected residents on the Ground Floor and one affected resident on Level 1. The affected residents’ families have been notified and these residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. Furthermore, a total of five staff members have returned a positive test result for COVID-19 and are recovering at home.
As such, visitations and movement across the Ground Floor and Level 1 are now restricted. Exemptions can be made for end of life and partners in care, however all approved visitors must wear an N95 mask and complete a RAT prior to entry. Physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified to one-on-one and meal tray service will be provided to affected residents. Hairdressing has also been ceased temporarily until further notice.
Visitations can continue to other floors, however, to allow us to best manage the situation, we do request that visits be limited where possible to allow us to fully assess the risk and mitigate further spread. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting Ningana during reception hours. If you do choose to visit Level 2 or Level 3, please be advised that a RAT must be completed prior to entry and a surgical mask is required to be worn at all times.
All visitors are reminded to adhere to the current health and safety measures as detailed below:
- Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
- Complete RAT prior to entry.
- Wear a properly fitted N95 mask while on the affected floors, surgical masks are required elsewhere.
- Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
- Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.
- Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.
- If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
- Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 7pm daily.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue to manage this outbreak.
