Covid-19 updates

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at SwanCare Waminda.

COVID-19 Outbreak: SwanCare Waminda

We need to advise that two residents have returned positive results for COVID-19 across Levels 1 and 2 at SwanCare Waminda. All affected residents’ families have been notified and the affected residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. One staff member has also tested positive and is currently isolating at home until they make a full recovery.

As a result, a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared.

To minimise spread, visitations and movement across both Level 1 and Level 2 will now be restricted, exemptions can made for end of life and partners in care. Physiotherapy and social engagement activities will be modified to one-on-one and meal tray service will be provided to residents within their rooms across the affected floors. Hairdressing has been temporarily cancelled until further notice.

Visitations can resume to Levels 3 and 4 under increased infection control, which includes completing a RAT prior to entry and correct wearing of N95 mask at all times. Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell. Visitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the correct fitment of respirators (N95) to protect yourself and others. A tutorial for donning and fit checking can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzaEOY345q4

Thank you for your cooperation while we manage this current outbreak. We will continue to be provide updates where appropriate.
