COVID-19 Outbreak Declared | SwanCare Ningana
Covid-19 updates

21st October 2024 | A COVID-19 Outbreak has been declared at SwanCare Ningana.

21st October 2024

A COVID-19 Outbreak has been declared at SwanCare Ningana.

We need to advise that two residents on the Ground Floor, and two staff members, have returned a positive test result for COVID-19. The affected residents’ families have been notified directly and these residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. The staff are recovering at home. As such, a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at SwanCare Ningana.

To minimise risk and mitigate further spread, we are now restricting visitations and movement across the Ground Floor. Exemptions can be made for end of life and partners in care. Physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified to one-on-one and meal tray service will be provided to affected residents. Hairdressing has also been ceased temporarily until further notice for Ground Floor residents.

Visitations can continue to other floors, however, to allow us to best manage the situation, we do request that visits be limited where possible to allow us to fully assess the risk and mitigate further spread. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting Ningana during reception hours.

Please be reminded all visitors must adhere to the current health and safety measures as detailed below:

  • Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.

  • Complete RAT prior to entry.

  • Wear a properly fitted N95 mask while on the Ground Floor, surgical masks are required elsewhere.

  •  Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.

  • Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.

  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.

  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.

  • Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 7pm daily.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we manage this outbreak. We will provide further updates where appropriate.
