Our People
World Food Safety Day is the perfect opportunity to recognise our Hospitality and Clinical team for helping to prepare 1200 safe and delicious meals for our residents, each and every day.
Did you know that after Fiona Stanley Hospital, SwanCare is the largest single-site aged care food service provider in WA?
With 1200 meals per day across our four residential aged care centres and retirement village, it takes a special team to ensure our community gets their fuel for the day.
Today is World Food Safety Day, and to celebrate, we’re shining a light on our valuable Hospitality and Clinical team who make it all possible.
“Food safety is a huge priority when it comes to preparing tasty meals and drinks for our residents,” said SwanCare’s Food Services Dietician, Alicia Peng.
“Within SwanCare, we work as a team to ensure food safety from the moment the ingredients arrive at our doorstep to when we plate the meals or drinks for our residents. This assurance comes in various forms such as quality inspections, having critical checkpoints, ensuring all staff are aware and educated about food safety, as well as understanding our residents' needs."
"Therefore, we take great pride in ensuring the food we provide is safe and suitable for our residents so they can maintain the quality of life they deserve," said Alicia.
Thank you to all involved for enriching the lives (and stomachs!) of our residents.
