Since 1834, the Perth Royal Show has been a cherished tradition for WA families spanning across generations. 

The joyous memories of a day at the Show remain near and dear to our residents at SwanCare, so we decided to recreate some of those magical moments with them.

The festivities kicked off with our Social Engagement Team dressed in their kookiest carnival costumes, welcoming in show-goers from SwanCare Kingia & Tandara. Once their special tickets were handed in, off they went! 

Our residential aged care residents had a ball playing various games, collecting showbags and prizes, and of course, having a cuddle at our guinea pig petting zoo. The iconic yellow brick road was marked in chalk with tasty treats lined up, although the ice cream cart proved to be the clear favourite on the day.

With an event as fun as this one, our Team knew it had to go out with a bang. While we couldn’t finish our Show with the classic firework display, colourful party poppers did the job well done!
