COVID-19 Outbreak Declared at SwanCare Waminda

We need to advise that we have a COVID-19 outbreak currently affecting residents on the Ground Floor and Third Floor of SwanCare Waminda. The affected residents’ families have been notified with the residents being well taken care of in their room.

Visitations to the Ground Floor and Level 3 are temporarily ceased to assist us in best managing this outbreak. Exemptions can be made for end-of-life care and partners in care. Hairdressing services, physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified.

Visitations to the other levels may continue, however we do request that visits be limited where possible. Anyone entering Waminda must adhere to increased infection control protocols, including completing a RAT and performing hand hygiene prior to entering, as well as always wearing a mask.

A reminder that all visitors must adhere to the current health and safety measures as follows:

  • Complete RAT prior to entry.
  • Wear a properly fitted N95 mask while on the affected floors, surgical masks are required elsewhere.
  • Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
  • Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
  • Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.
  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.
  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
  • Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 7pm daily.

Thank you for your cooperation during this time.
