COVID-19 Outbreak Declared at SwanCare Kingia

We need to advise that this afternoon, the 6th of July, two residents on level 1 at SwanCare Kingia and two visitors have tested positive for COVID-19. In addition to these four positive cases, two staff members also tested positive earlier in the week. The staff members and visitors were all onsite during their infectious period. As such, a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared.

A full risk assessment is in progress and PCR testing is being organised for all SwanCare Kingia level 1 residents. The families of any affected resident will be notified directly.

SwanCare Kingia level 1 will be closed to visitors effective immediately – please refrain from visiting until further notice. Visitation exemptions will be made for end of life and partners in care. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Kingia during reception hours to schedule a time.

SwanCare Kingia ground floor and SwanCare Tandara remain open for visitors. As a reminder, all visitors are required to provide a negative RAT test and health screen upon arrival; in addition to following the WA Government’s current level 1 public health and safety measures. Due to high number of COVID-19 cases within the community all external outings are limited to medical appointments only.

We are doing everything within our control to reduce further risk to residents and staff and to provide support to all affected during this time. All actions have been implemented under the guidance of the Department of Health.
