COVID-19 Update for SwanCare Kingia & Tandara

Please be advised that the current COVID-19 outbreak at SwanCare Kingia and Tandara is unfortunately still experiencing an increase in cases, however, with that the number of residents recovering is also increasing.

The total number of residents across SwanCare Kingia Level 2, Tandara Level 1 and Level 2 has increased to 44 since the onset of the outbreak, however 24 residents have now made a full recovery. One resident remains in hospital. A total of 28 staff have returned positive results with 16 having now recovered and are returning to work.

It is with great sadness to report that one of our residents has since passed away during this outbreak. SwanCare wishes to convey our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of this much-loved resident.

Families of all affected residents have been notified directly and these residents are being well taken care of in their rooms. All affected residents will be provided with meal tray service and 1:1 activities in their rooms and hairdressing services have been temporarily ceased.

Routine Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) at SwanCare Kingia and Tandara will continue every 72 hours for both residents and staff.

While SwanCare Kingia Ground Floor remains COVID-19 free and can continue with usual services and visitations, we do ask that visitors refrain from attending while we manage this current outbreak if possible.

Visitations for partners in care and visitors providing support to residents receiving end of life care can continue however all visitors are required to abide by the increased infection control measures, including completing a RAT prior to entry and wearing a mask at all times.

Arrangements for telephonic and video communications with your loved ones can be made by contacting SwanCare Kingia or Tandara reception to schedule a time.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during this time.
