Notice of COVOD-19 Outbreak on Level 2 at SwanCare Ningana.

6th May 2024

Notice of COVOD-19 Outbreak on Level 2 at SwanCare Ningana.

Please be advised of a COVID-19 outbreak on Level 2 at SwanCare Ningana. Two residents on Level 2 have returned a positive test result for COVID-19. Both affected residents’ families have been notified and these residents are being well taken care of in their rooms.

All residents are being closely monitored for symptoms with routine testing having now commenced.

To minimise risk and mitigate further spread, we are now restricting visitations and movement on Level 2. Exemptions can be made for end of life and partners in care. Physiotherapy and social engagement activities have been modified to one-on-one and meal tray service will be provided to affected residents. Hairdressing has also been ceased temporarily for affected residents until further notice.

Visitations can continue to other floors, however, to allow us to best manage the situation, we do request that visits be limited where possible to allow us to fully assess the risk and mitigate further spread. Arrangements for telephonic and video communications can be made by contacting Ningana during reception hours.

Please be reminded all visitors must adhere to the current health and safety measures as detailed below:

  • Complete health screening and sign in using visitor kiosk upon arrival.
  • Complete RAT prior to entry.
  • Wear a N95 mask indoors and outdoors within residential aged care centre grounds.
  • Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations prior to entry is encouraged.
  • Respect all infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in place.
  • Refrain from visiting if unwell or if you are a close contact of a COVID-19 case.
  • If COVID-19 positive, refrain from visiting for at least 7 days and until symptom free.
  • Visitors are limited to two people at a time, from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm daily.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we manage this outbreak.
