What began in 2020 during the pandemic - when many people were in need - has grown into a cherished tradition at SwanCare Bentley Park. Inspired by a desire to help, residents from the Line Dancing group started collecting food donations. Word quickly spread, and the whole village now rallies behind the cause.

What began as a small idea turned into an incredible achievement with 240kg of food donated to Foodbank in the first year alone. Since then, the Foodbank Appeal has become a highlight of the community calendar. Residents now eagerly ask when the next collection will begin.

This year marks the sixth year of giving, and we’re proud to share that Bentley Park has donated of 624kg of food to Foodbank WA which is equivalent to 1,248 meals for those in need.

A heartfelt thank you from retirement living residents, Pam Hind and Lesley Foster, the dedicated organisers behind the appeal: “A huge thank you to residents, staff and friends for your generosity and kindness,” they shared. “We are proud to be part of such a caring community. We couldn’t do it without your help.”
