Please join us as we congratulate our Feathers Winners for September 2024.
24th October 2024
We love taking the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our incredible SwanCare staff. We’re grateful to everyone who has shared their stories with us, allowing us to highlight the amazing contributions of our team.
Here is her nomination which shows how she demonstrates leadership values:
“Jemarie has recently undertaken her new role as an Enrolled Nurse and has shone through regarding her ability to handle and compose herself during challenging times. Yesterday, Jemarie proved how flexible and willing she is to take on new challenges with a late sick call from an RN for the floor. This meant we had to move the current RN on the floor to cover the callout, while Jemarie managed to handle and run the floor by herself. Thank you, Jem!”
Thanks for stepping up Jemarie and running a smooth operation. We’re delighted to award you as our overall Feathers Winner for the month of September!
We have many other winners this month who have demonstrated their commitment to our values. Here are the category winners for September.

COMPASSION
Keenan Redwood, Roster Coordinator – SwanCare Kingia & SwanCare Tandara
“Keenan realised that I had too much on my hands during the preparations for the Aged Care Games. He knew I would face challenges since I was on leave on Monday morning and then had to cover for staff for the following two days. This has been the second time that he has offered to help (when I was in a similar situation). He's a very considerate person, shows empathy and acts on it to help me out. I know I gave him a simple arts and craft task, but his support gave me the inspiration to move on.”
Keenan you are a perfect fit for the SwanCare team and we are lucky to have you, thank you!
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Zoran Pusaric, Maintenance Officer - Maintenance
“I would like to nominate Zoran for his unwavering dedication to maintenance work. He is always ready to help, making a consistent effort to complete any task for our residents - all while keeping a smile on his face. Even when his shift is about to finish, he listens attentively and either completes the task or promises to take care of it the next day. His positive attitude and commitment to his work truly makes a difference.”
Outstanding feedback, it’s great to hear how our team make a difference to the lives of others. We are very grateful for your commitment Zoran, thanks!
IMPROVEMENTS, INNOVATION & CREATIVITY
Keenan Redwood, Roster Coordinator – SwanCare Kingia & SwanCare Tandara
“I'd like to take a moment to recognise Keenan for the fantastic initiative he's introduced in Optima to improve our workflow. The new Excel sheet he created to display staff availabilities has made it so much easier for me to understand any changes he's implemented. On top of that, all the behind-the-scenes work Keenan has done to simplify both our roles has truly been invaluable. His proactive approach and dedication to improving the workflow have made a big difference. Thank you, Keenan, for your hard work and innovation!”
You’re on a roll Keenan! Innovative additions to our systems and processes benefit everyone and we are very grateful to have your skills on board, thank you!
TEAMWORK
Julie Herriott, Administration Officer - SwanCare Waminda
“We recently implemented a new rule for Roster Coordinators to help payroll better understand assignments in the rostering system. Julie took this on board and implemented these changes the second she arrived back to her workspace. This made payroll processing smoother and more efficient, with far fewer questions needing to be asked. I would like to recognise Julie for jumping on board and implementing the change so quickly.”
Thank you, Julie. Your ability to adapt and conquer does not go unnoticed!
TEAM NOMINATION

Phakchu Dema, Assistant in Nursing – SwanCare Tandara
Thinley Choden, Assistant in Nursing – SwanCare Tandara
Namgay Dem, Assistant in Nursing – SwanCare Tandara
Safi Sheik Mydheen, Social Engagement Assistant – SwanCare Tandara
“We decided to arrange an activity: Armchair Travel to Bhutan. All the Bhutanese girls who work in SwanCare Tandara were happy to take part. They brought many different things from home which showed their culture, such as handmade Yak bag, bamboo plates, religious masks, and wooden containers. All of them wore Bhutanese traditional clothing and danced in front of our residents. Tshering and Sonam gave us a short speech to introduce their culture and answered our questions. Because of their support, our activity became more interesting and exciting. Our residents' facial expressions showed that they loved this activity. Thank you so much for the contribution.”
This sounds like so much fun! Thanks, team for making this activity such a success. We can’t wait to hear about what you come up with next!
