Introducing our monthly Feathers winner, PC, and all other category winners for July!
16th August 2024
It may be winter, but these inspiring stories from behind the scenes at SwanCare have warmed our heart. We are proud to recognise in particular our amazing Assistant in Nursing from SwanCare Ningana, Pema “PC” Wangdi.
Here is the story behind why she has been awarded as our Feathers winner for July!
“PC is a highly valued member of the SwanCare Ningana staff. She consistently goes above and beyond in her role. We have residents with challenging behaviours, and even experienced staff members who have had difficulty administering medications and assisting with their activities of daily living. PC, with her calm voice and empathetic approach, has transformed these residents' willingness to cooperate through her one-on-one bedside conversations. Her remarkable ability to care for our residents is truly impressive. PC is also well-loved by her peers. We thank PC for her hard work and dedication!”
Thank you Pema, your hard work and compassion are appreciated. We’re lucky to have you!
We are always impressed by how our team reflects the SwanCare values in their work on a day-to-day basis. Here’s the category winners who have been nominated this month for demonstrating these values in their roles.
Category Winners
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Tristen Galipo and Aden Dyer, IT Support – Administration
“Big thanks to Aden and Tristen for the great service today at SwanCare Ningana. Our lifts had a fault where the internal call buttons became inactive. This meant that no one could use the lift without having to swipe to activate the panel. The guys came over and tried to rectify the issue for us but were unsuccessful. To help us out, they stayed and assisted us to move residents and visitors to the respective floors. They arranged for external contractors to attend and solve some of the issues and came back the following day to resolve the last operational issues. Thanks so much for the support Aden and Tristen.”
We understand that tasks are not always straight forward, this being a great example of how Tristen and Aden persevered to resolve the problem. Well done and thank you!
IMPROVEMENTS, INNOVATION & CREATIVITY
Librato Maglaqui, Registered Nurse – SwanCare Tandara
Mely Sy, AN-ACC Coordinator – SwanCare Kingia
“Mely and Librato implemented a hydration station in each Activity Room in SwanCare Kingia and SwanCare Tandara. Their initiative was very helpful for the residents and staff as it is readily accessible to them during their activities or even during their down time after meals.”
Improving the lives of our residents is our number one priority, thank you Librato and Mely for always looking to better our service!
LEADERSHIP
Namrata Neupane, Registered Nurse – SwanCare Ningana
“I would like to thank Namrata for demonstrating great leadership on the floor. She is always helping us with what action should be taken for specific problems and we end up with great solutions. She makes sure that things are fair for everyone. I am so pleased to have her as an RN on the floor. Thank you for your leadership and for bringing us closer together as a team.”
Lovely feedback Namrata, we are pleased you have been recognised for your leadership talents, thanks for all your work!
TEAMWORK
Vicci Donovan, Registered Nurse – SwanCare Kingia
“Vicci has been incredibly helpful in various ways. We had over 10 care plan acknowledgment forms that needed to be signed by family members. Although it wasn't solely her responsibility, she took the initiative to call everyone, provide updates, and get the forms signed within two days. Vicci consistently goes above and beyond her role to assist the team. Thank you, Vicci, for always being proactive and giving your best to support the team.”
Your work makes such a difference, and we appreciate everything you do, thank you Vicci!
TEAM NOMINATION
The ICT Administration team:
Chris Rabail, Network Administrator; Steve Meeks, IT Support; Tristen Galipo, IT Support; Aden Dyer, IT Support; Damien Franklin, Manager Technical Service Delivery
“I would like to recognise the amazing efforts of the ICT Team during the recent computer outage caused by one of our software vendors. The global issue affected SwanCare by disabling servers and workstations across the whole organisation. The team worked together in restoring services as quickly as possible, communicating to staff, and working after hours to get the computers back online. The joint efforts behind the scenes were great to see and resulted in a quick restoration for SwanCare. Well done team.”
Incredible work everyone! We’re so lucky to have such a strong team supporting us. Thank you!
