The autumn leaves might be falling as we transition into more cooling weather, but our team members continue to shine a warm light on our SwanCare community! The nominations we received last month from our Feathers Program highlight the fantastic place we call work, and the special place our residents call home.
Please join us in congratulating our winner for April, nominated for her Compassion, Laundry Supervisor from SwanCare Hospitality Services, Cathy Tomkinson!
Cathy has demonstrated pure compassion and unwavering commitment to her work.
Here is her nomination:
“One of our residents in SwanCare Kingia had lost a button on a favourite pair of her shorts. I called the laundry and spoke to Cathy about getting the shorts repaired. Cathy went above and beyond the call of duty! Cathy collected the shorts and took them home with her. In Cathy’s own time she got a new button for the resident’s shorts and using her own sewing kit, Cathy repaired the shorts and returned them to our resident the very next morning. The resident and I were thrilled! Cathy’s compassion and true care for our residents shined through every single day. I appreciate Cathy’s kindness and care always!”
Well done Cathy, much deserved. Read on for more inspiring and heart-warming nominations sent in by our team members, residents and resident families, and help us congratulate the fantastic team we have at SwanCare!
“Matt had a current resident see him about relocating within the village. This resident was very persistent about moving, however realistically the best move for him would be residential care. Matt took the time to sit and chat with this resident, listen to his feelings and then provide him with some honest feedback in a very caring and empathetic manner. These conversations can be very difficult and upsetting, but the resident left happy, and this was due to Matt’s professionalism and care towards him. Thanks Matt.”
You’re an asset to the team Matt, and we are grateful to have you on the team. Thank you!
