Are you looking for a fun way to stay active and social indoors? Well, look no further. The Bentley Park Bowling Club is welcoming new members who agree with their ethos of “rain, hail, storm or shine, the bowls must go on!”

Founded in 1972, the Bentley Park Bowling Club plays in the undercroft of Richard Cleaver Lodge. It offers three rinks, each with a smooth synthetic grass surface, providing an excellent setting for bowling. You will meet the warm and friendly faces who come together twice a week for a fun game of bowls, morning tea and a catch-up with friends.

Bowls is more than just a leisurely activity; it’s an excellent way to boost your physical health, mental wellbeing and allows you to meet and connect with a supportive community. Whether you’re experienced or new to the game, bowls provides many benefits for both your body and mind.

The annual membership fee to join the Bentley Park Bowling Club remains at just $15, with the small cost of a 50c game fee to cover the tea break.

“As we are residents in a retirement village, we have no public holidays, and leave is granted without penalty!” jokes Adrian F. “Being undercover means we can play all year round!”

“Come along, give it a try and have fun! You’ll enjoy it; we’re a friendly bunch," invites Chris B. Chris joined two years ago and has been happily coming back ever since to get exercise with the company of friendly, like-minded people.

“You’re always welcome to come down on a Monday or Saturday morning to try it out for free as a visitor. Our doors are always open,” adds Adrian. “Any residents who may like to bowl out of the weather are most welcome to join us.”

So, if you have ever wondered if bowls is for you, you are more than welcome to join. It’s a great community activity and maybe you’ll just find your new favourite indoor activity!
